How do you choose a name?
The debate continues. How do you decide on a name when you are not sure what gender your child will be? Historically most children available through international adoption in China are girls so we decided to go with the law of averages.
How do you pass a name on that has meaning?
In my heart I know that we could not pick a name without meaning. The difficulty comes when a name has already been selected.
How do you ensure that your child keeps a part of her heritage while gaining a part of yours?
That part seemed really easy. We plan on choosing her first name and keeping part of her chinese name for her middle name. As you can see by the blog photograph we choose the name "Anne". My middle name is Anne, so is my mom's, Mike's mom name is Ann, and so is Mike's sister. How great is that? Both sides of the family represented in one name that has more meaning than any name could have and yet carries all the joy and happiness we picture for our future family.
