I thought I was a somewhat patient person. I was WRONG!
Last Friday we were fingerprinted and of course I expect an immediate response from USCIS "like yesterday". NO mail.
This past Saturday we sent out eleven (11) documents to the Chinese Consulate, Monday, the homestudy was sent to the Chinese Consulate. Today I check the mail because I expect an immediate response from the Chinese Consulate "like yesterday". NO mail.
I'm happy I can joke about it, this wait is nothing compared to the even bigger wait that is yet to come.
Yeepeeh! for the United States Postal Service and Express Mail. While I did not receive any MAIL, I was able to confirm that the Chinese Consulate received both packages. The turnaround is about two (2) weeks. But of course you and I both know I will continue to seek out the mailman for the return of our documents. Fingerprint clearance is also estimated to take two (2) weeks. Lets hope it doesn't for the sake of the mailman:)
While we wait for the documents to safely return "like yesterday" we are putting together photographs for the dossier. The dossier is comprised of the homestudy as well as an additional twelve (12) documents authenticated by the Chinese Consulate and then translated for the Chinese Adoption Affairs in China. We are required to submit eight(8)family life photographs and three(3)couple photographs. Couple photographs are not a problem but who would of thought that family life photographs would be. It seems like every photograph was either taken by Mike or myself. Two weeks ago, I took a photograph of Dad's famous meatballs with Mike & Annie. I wish I were in it. What a great photograph.

I won't complain because right after I took the photograph I got to eat Dad's famous meatballs. Still working on the recipe:)
