I received a few emails about my hurler. My hurler is feeling better. We have a special hurler BOND now. Everytime something goes wrong during hurler's day, hurler seeks me out.
New problem to tackle, biting.
Children bite for a variety of reasons:
1. Violation of personal space. (Don't touch me, don't get to close or I'll bite you!)
2. Mine! Mine! Mine! (Sharing is just not an option, the world is my oyster, give it to me or I'll bite you!)
3. You are hurting me! I can't get away! (self-defense, I'll bite you!)
4. I'm teething! You taste good! (Biting relieves the pressure and pain associated with teething and helps the teeth to cut thru the gums, I'll bite you! Ouch!)
5. I can't talk! I'm frustrated! (Inability to express wants and needs, leads to anger and frustration, watch out or I'll bite you!)
6. Boredom and the unavoidable absolutely no reason at all. (I'm just going to bite you!)
Biting stinks all around. Both the biter and the bitee are upset. Both still have a lot of baby in them. Both can't explain themselves. Both are experiencing pain. The biter experiences the emotional pain associated with the biting incident and the bitee, well need I say more, the physical pain.
It really has been a learning experience so far. The interesting thing is that you don't need a book to figure it out, just being around the different personalities provides all the clues you need to fill in the reasons why.
I'm really hoping that our little one just SKIPS over this phase. Really, really, hoping...
On the adoption front:
Congrats to all the August 2006 families who just found out they are OUT of the REVIEW ROOM!
The CCAA is matching and referrals are expected soon. There are rumors out there that indicate that more famiies have been matched but that the the CCAA is waiting for the new adoption year (for China) to begin.
AND
Then possibly, possibly (not counting on this myself)they might increase the number of referrals being sent out.
I am still believing we will have our referral in March of 2008. I refuse to believe other wise! THATS MY STORY AND I"M STICKING TO IT!
PS: I joined another swap with my Worth Waiting For Yahoo Group. This group is interesting because it involves waiting families with different 2006 Log-In-Dates. Feel free to join, it is a fun group :)
The swap is called a "LOVEY" swap. Something your child will love to hold and love (not you silly), a stuffed animal, cuddly blanket. So once again, I am on the hunt for a "LOVEY". After having my own mini-swap boycott, I decided to take it one swap at a time! Ha!
