"Faces of Abandonment"

I read this article a few nights ago. It discusses the changing state of orphanages in China. Whether I like or not things are changing in China. Yes, it is adversely affecting International Adoption but that is not what is most important. The age old saying "What is in the best interest of the child." comes back to haunt me. The truth of the matter is if more children are in foster care, living with relatives or extended family, that is a good thing. It is obvious though that policy needs to change even more there to prevent all of these children who are not legally registered in China from missing out services and an education they deserve.
