The week that never ends.....

This past weekend I celebrated my birthday, well if you want to say celebrate. All last week I was battling a cold, a SUPER-BUG, that left my throat on fire, nose stuffed, and me totally sleep deprived. I barely get thru Friday, come home to find out I have been invited to be a candidate for an on-line teaching position. I just have to fill out some online applications by Sun. I think no big deal and spend the night gurgling with salt water, spraying sinus rinse up my nose, and taking muccinex to loosen the mucus that is strangling my nostrils and clogging my chest ( I know too graphic-sorry). Sat morning my birthday, I am one miserable person, my Mom who lives with me is being picked up by my brother so I can have a free weekend with my dh. I run around Sat trying to get as many errands done as possible in torrential rain, BEAUTIFUL, get home, try to relax, I am MISERABLE, I work on the online applications but I am still adjusting to the NEW glasses I picked up that morning! I get done and I'm thinking finally peace and quiet with my dh, NOT FEELIN' the romance, I'm sick as a dog, but trying my best to make the best of it when we hear a sound like something crashing in my backyard. My dh looks out the window and yells for me to join him. It looked like a scene from the Wizard of Oz, there in front of me, my neighbor's shed is teetering on my garage. The power goes out. How romantic! My dh runs across the street to my MIL, did I forget to say she lives across from us, LOL! MY dh is there and I am home with a rocking shed on my garage, howling winds, rain, etc.. FUN! Sunday we were supposed to attend a Chinese New Year celebration with our local FCC, planned for two months, excited to go, even volunteering in the Arts and Crafts room. My dh is exhausted, I am exhausted, the shed is still on the garage... I leave dh at home drive out to Suffolk which takes forever, volunteer and come home. My throat is still on fire, my eyes hurt, my nose is stuffed and I manage to survive another sleepless night. I awake to eyes crusted shut, clear my eyes and call in sick. I go the Doctor and he tells me "You are here again!" (Fourth time in four months-the price of working at a Day Care/Pre-school). I nod "Yes". He takes one look at my eyes and tells me I have pink-eye- GREAT! and a viral infection in my throat-GREAT! Stay home a few days-You think? I get home, log on the computer to find out I have more online applications to fill out, I can't see, log off and give up! The next day, Tuesday, my Assistant teacher calls to me she has the same thing but it gets better. She has a mild case of the Chicken Pox. So now I sit here checking every bump that might, might not be a pimple itching like crazy (paranoid), typing with still blurry eyes telling myself " Give me a break!" Ever had one of these days?

Other Highlights from this week:

Our two year LID-versary was last Friday, March 7th!

We received a really cute ducky blanket from Brandi & family, part of an agency online swap.

I read a book with blurry eyes. What would have taken a day or two took four days!

I have infected my family. We are now an unhappy family attempting to get better under one roof! Urgh! Let's hope the virus doesn't recycle itself.

ITCH! ITCH! ITCH!

Shall we just put you out of your misery now? PINK EYE? Chicken pox? Viral Throat Infection? Shed on Garage? MIL across the street?

You need (1) a new job (2) an excuse to hide under the covers and
(3) some chocolate.
