Getting ready for China

Today we went to the bank and started our collection of nicely used and good condition 100 dollar bills. Our local branch is great and were more than willing to help us out. It is important that the money look almost new and have no creases or folds. Mike will be determining which bucks stay and which ones go. When we return we will work on the next installment.

We will have to have quite a bit when we leave. One money belt will not be enough, we will actually need another one. There are only five provinces that will allow wire transfers for the orphanage fee. As a result we have to prepare as if our province won't. We will also need additional money for in-China country fees, US Consulate fees, along with tours, and tips. This does not include airfare or food. I am hoping we will be able to use our credit cards for some of it, just so we can get the best exchange rate. At any rate the buck stops here literally!
