put together by the BEST sisters ever.
Almost everyone made it which is a miracle considering how little time, my sisters had to get it done.
They had to overcome many obstacles such as the CCAA, the Swine Flu, Holy Communions, Birthdays, Graduations, a Wedding, our travel plans, which is all happening in the month of June.
They started planning towards the end of last year and revved it up into high gear with in clandestine baby shower meetings, secret phone calls, and emails.
Everyone in my family had the opportunity to get involved and did.
From day one, my family has been there and there is no mistaking how much love there if for our little girl. She is and will continue to be loved by all and it makes my heart swell to know just how lucky I am; not just to have her but to have her within a family and community of friends that are truly amazing.
My youngest sister Jill did most of the legwork since she lives nearby and worked very hard during her lunch hour to ensure that my day was special. Her loving touch was not just felt but seen in every aspect of the shower.
At my Dad's house everyone pitched in to make sure all the favors were created and hidden on the many surprise visits I made to their house. (Yes, Lin, Karen told me!)
My sister Dee created a scrapbook that depicted the journey and had it personalized by my friends and family.
My sister in-law Alex helped put the prizes together.
My sister in-law Jenniffer made sure our gliding chair showed up in time.
My sister in-law Annie had the daunting task of shopping with my mom, for her mom, her Aunt; and at some point was driven crazy with all the excitement.
My future sister in-law who is preparing for her wedding helped create the chopstick favors.
My niece Alyssa created a keepsake box for Annie which contained parenting and mommy/daddy tips collected before I arrived. I look forward to telling Annie all about it when she is older.
My nephew Jonathan was the Master of Ceremonies and did a fine job!
My oldest niece began putting Annie’s gift together as soon as she heard about her littlest cousin and her thoughtfulness is present throughout.
My baby niece Raquel’s presence was a treat! She will definitely be giving us all a run for our money literally, since she has just moved past walking to an almost run…
Every aspect of the celebration was special. The attention to detail was absolutely wonderful. From the ladybug place cards, ladybug tissue paper used to decorate the centerpieces, spring flowers, chopsticks, fortune cookies, and Chinese boxes, there was no mistaking our daughter’s heritage and my family’s support of it.
Did I mention the food was GREAT!
Words can not begin to express my gratitude and appreciation for all that family has and continues to do for me.
Having my friends there to celebrate was a blessing.
I thank you, Mike thanks you, and when little Annie Yan Ai gets the chance to get to know all of you. She will get to see just how lucky I am and how lucky she is to have all of you in her corner!
Thank you and Hugs!
Below are a few pics of the celebration.
